Human Farm Investigation Patch Install Helper

Before you start

This helper walks through installing RP26071196, the official free patch from 072 Project for Human Farm : Investigation : (Steam app 3953160, launch August 7, 2026). It supplements Official Patch with ordered safety steps.

RP26071196 (~500 MB) fixes event errors and restores Steam-cut assets. It cannot run alone — folder copy and overwrite into the Steam game directory is the install method. Do not use unofficial mirrors.

Step 1 — Backup saves

Locate the save directory per publisher readme or Steam community guides. Copy the entire folder to:

HumanFarmInvestigation_saves_backup_YYYYMMDD

Never patch without a save backup — rare conflicts may require restore.

Step 2 — Backup game files (recommended)

Copy the game install folder or at minimum asset directories listed in the RP26071196 readme to a separate path. Enables one-step revert if overwrite goes wrong.

Right-click game in Steam → Manage → Browse local files to open the correct directory.

Step 3 — Extract RP26071196

1. Download the official archive from 072 Project
2. Extract fully to a temporary folder — verify ~500 MB payload present
3. Read readme inside — note language-specific subfolders if any
4. Confirm archive includes post-26/08/07 recall-room warning assets if publisher notes mention that update

Step 4 — Copy and overwrite into game directory

1. Open Steam game folder (Browse local files)
2. Select all patch folders/files from extraction
3. Copy into game root (or paths readme specifies)
4. Confirm Replace / overwrite on every prompt — partial copy causes event and gallery mismatches
5. Do not launch game mid-copy

Step 5 — First launch verification

1. Start game from Steam (not raw executable outside depot unless readme says otherwise)
2. Open gallery on a test save — compare counts to Scene Checklist
3. Confirm options menu loads — Settings and Run Mode
4. If a previously broken event day existed, reload pre-event save and retry
5. If crash, restore Step 2 backup; reinstall; reapply carefully

Step 6 — Steam verify warning
