Human Farm Investigation Ending Routes and Branch Map

Where Iori's investigation splits into five-plus finales.

Before you read branch details

This page documents ending routes for Human Farm : Investigation : on Steam — decision points, mutually exclusive branches, and how investigation completeness interacts with cover and relationships. It assumes you finished or do not mind spoiling the overall plot frame from Story Overview.

Pair with How to Get Endings for player-facing advice and Ending Tracker for tick-box tracking. Remember: scene unlocker and gallery completion do not unlock endings.

Route axes

Finale selection combines three axes:

Investigation score — evidence from City Quests, Tsubaki deadlines, and item handoffs in Items. Low scores route to incomplete investigation endings.

Cover integrity — suspicion from skipping farm work or contradictory dialogue. Blown cover endings remain playable but exclude true ending.

Ally emphasis — Maria-forward, Rui-forward, balanced handler play, or farm-centric loyalty shift epilogue narration and which allies appear in closing scenes.

Late-game location picks act as hard locks — save before final nights per Beginner Tips.

Standard justice route

Profile: Maintained cover, raid triggered with sufficient evidence, moderate relationship balance.

Key habits: Complete farm minimums daily; finish Tsubaki evidence quests on schedule; avoid early raid prompts.

Fails when: Investigation meter below raid threshold or premature raid acceptance.

Wiki tools: Story Overview daily template; Investigation Mechanics.

Good first-run target if you are not completionist chasing true ending yet.

Compromise / personal cost route

Profile: Case succeeds but Iori sacrifices wellbeing or specific relationships.

Key habits: Prioritize one handler chain while neglecting another; skip optional Alice scenes.

Fails when: Accidentally hitting true ending checklist thresholds — use dedicated save if hunting this variant deliberately.

Blown cover route

Profile: Identity exposed mid-game; confrontation-forward finale.

Key habits: Max suspicion, refuse farm tasks, or choose confrontational dialogue flagged in police vs farm scenes.

Fails when: You wanted true ending — blown cover locks it unless loading older save.

Interesting for NG+ gallery variety — some story events appear only on high-suspicion paths (How to Unlock Scenes).

Incomplete investigation route

Profile: Raid or closure happens without full evidence; bittersweet or failure epilogues.

Key habits: Skip city travel repeatedly; ignore Maria or Rui handoffs.

Fails when: You need achievements tied to best outcomes — see Achievements.

Speedrunners may intentionally trigger this — not recommended for first clear.

True ending route

Profile: Maximum investigation, required core scenes, correct final choice, maintained or narratively justified cover per checklist exceptions.

Key habits: Follow True Ending Checklist line by line; do not trigger raid until checklist complete; install Official Patch if CG differs from references.

Fails when: Any single mandatory quest, item, or scene is missed — often without obvious warning.

Variant epilogues (+)

Small narration or CG changes when optional routes complete — e.g., Alice city chain, extra farm scenes with Karen or Aina. Counted separately in wiki stats but not always unique menu entries.

Use Scene Checklist to hunt variants after primary five endings.

Critical branch nodes (structural)

Without quoting every dialogue line:

PhaseDecisionRoutes affected
Mid-gameFirst major evidence recipient (Maria vs Rui emphasis)Compromise vs true prep
Pre-raidAccept vs delay raid promptIncomplete vs justice vs true
Final nightLocation selection (three+ options)All finales
Post-creditsConfirmation dialogue on true pathTrue vs standard justice

Save slots before each row — names like pre-raid and final-night.

NG+ and cleanup

After first credits, use NG+ or chapter select if available to mop alternate endings. Otherwise reload branch saves rather than replaying from Day 1 — Keyboard Controls text skip helps.

Cheats from Cheats and Unlockers do not set ending flags retroactively.

Ending routes reward planning more than reflexes — map branches early, execute with saves, and never trust the gallery unlocker for finale credit.
